    Asian Handicaps
Anybody have some experience using Asian Handicaps? I'll be betting on the world cup quite a bit and I get the feeling it's a way for the books to get extra cash from you. Is there an advantage to these?

You can make your own asian handicaps.

            Example:

            South Africa +194
            Mexico +168
            Draw +228

If you like South Africa bet 1 unit on +194 and 1 unit on draw at +228.

If South Africa wins you win .94 units
If it is a draw you win 1.28 units

Or bet the pk line at +106 and push if it draws or win 1.06 units if South Africa wins.

As you can see when betting the Asian handicap line it allows you to bet less units since it pushes the draw.

Gotcha. Thanks. In your example you actually lose .06 units by have South Africa win. So it's clearly a hedge. Do you use these often? And also, where are you getting those lines? They're much better than BetPhoenix.

                      Pinnacle lines

Bet $100 on +194 you get back $294 minus $100 on the draw bet so your net gain is $94 or .94 units. But you have to risk $200 to win $94.

Of course. Clearly can't do math at the moment.

                          Fuk asian handicaps.

If you can't fukkin drive, you certainly don't deserve a parking spot close to the building.

Asian handicaps are the best way to bet imo, they can limit risk and offer a 2-way bet as oppose to the usual 3-way lines

Basically it boils down to this:

Would you risk 1 unit and win either .47 or .64 units

                              OR

Would you risk 1 unit and win 1.06 units or push

Definitely an interesting option. Thanks for all the advice, everyone.

Pavy, do you use these often? Seems like the thread is fairly split.

They offer them on every game. This was only just an example. My favorite ones are the +0.5 or +1.5 where you bet the dog to either not lose or lose by one goal. Off course you have to study the odds and teams. Some times pack the defense and are hard to crack so a +1.5 has good value.

Asian handicap (AH) is the only way to be on soccer for me.

I've been playing AH for years now and haven't touched PK/draws. With AH, you'll normally get even or very juicy odds.
