Mattingly was a premiere offensive talent until injuries caught up with him. When he finally made the playoffs,he played well.He was great with the glove.

Keith is the best fielding first baseman that I've ever seen.He was a leader and a clutch hitter. His offensive skills weren't as good as Mattingly's----

I say a slight edge to Mattingly due to the fact that when he was good,he was the best player in the game

Hernandez was better with the glove, Mattingly was the better overall player. Neither should be in the Hall of Fame.

Exactly. I think Mattingly's name was mentioned on Seinfeld once, but Keith not only showed up and dated Elaine but was spit on by Kramer/Newman, he's the true hero.

Mattingly had a far shorter period of time of being great.... long term I think Hernandez edges him out due to the glove

                    Hernandez by far

Also Keith was a winner more and more of a pressure player and more of a fukkin leader

Donny was a fukkin mouse and hat great stats when Yanks were not good at all

                      Agreed.

Also, I've never seen anyone field a bunt like Hernandez. He was the only player to make you think twice about doing it because he'd throw guys out like it was nothing at 2nd and 3rd.

I liked Mattingly also. I think he was the last lefty to play third base in a game. I remember they were out of players against Seattle and he played a couple of innings there.
