Loved the way Karl malone used to step on offensive players feet before they would elevate for the jumper to strip the ball. At the time ref's never looked at the feet at that part of the court.

michael cooper... he was a hell of a defensive stopper back in the day for the showtime lakers when everyone else was more offensively based, he held it down on defense

Dennis Rodman. The guy could guard 3-4 positions and absolutely shut his man down. There hasn't been a better, more versatile defender in the last 20 years.

There is no sense in arguign with Williams Rodman is the best defender this league has ever seen and its not even close.

The likes of Kobe and Tmac used to destroy Bowen, he was nothing except for a hacker.

Exactly. No one else compares. 3830 blocked shots- 700 more than the next guy (mutumbo). He is also 8th on the NBA all time steals list- incredible for a big man. Not even one other centre is top 25 in that category. 11th all time in rebounds as well. The guy was incredible. On top of that he was a great offensive player. So many good defenders only are good at defending but he played both ends.

I didnt say anything about Rodman. He was a beast on the boards. I was talking about Hakeem. He also played 300 more games than Rodman and obviously later in his career his age downgraded his numbers.
