Any Sports radio WFAN fans here(NY)?
I love listening to this radio station.Personally I think that Steve Somers is the best. Anyone like or dislike Mike Francesa?----or Chris Maddog Russo who's now on Sirius satellite radio?

Are there internet streams for those? I've been listening to Laker's radio a bit, but the circle jerk after a win gets to be a bit much at times... and I'm a Lakers fan.

WFAN is much better than ESPN, ESPN radio is terrible. ESPN does way too many commercials, doesn't allow callers, only allowed to promote ESPN brand, etc. I prefer a third party to get my sports, ESPN can't say certain things because they have contracts with all of the leagues.

The best ESPN show is Scott Van Pelt's in midday. Steve Somers is great if you are a hockey fan, but too may Bobby from White Plains calls can drive ya nuts.

How is FAN an imitation of WIP? FAN was first.

I listened to WFAN a lot while I was growing up in North Jersey. Was easy to leave on all day and be pretty entertained compared to what was on TV.

Use to like Russ Saulsberg's morning show and how he'd always lose his cool at people.

Francesa and Russo (when one wasn't on vacation) was better than anything around these days. Mike would always sound like the expert on everything and Chris would jump in jabbing with his shots. They had a good mix of knowledge and got into some good arguments.

My favorite timeframe of the show was in 1994 when the Rangers won the Stanley Cup and the Knicks were in the NBA Finals. There was no way you could -not- leave the show on day after day during those sets of playoffs.

WFAN is great, however has been going a little down hill the last couple of years mainly because Mad Dog left the show with Francessa. Back in the day when those guys were on there was no sports radio show even remotely comparable. They were bar none the best sports show in the Country. I am still saddened with the fact they have broken up. Francessa is still good in the mid-day, but he can bore you sometimes and put you to sleep. He needs another host in there badly I think. Lastly, nothing better then listening to Steve Summers when your high.
