Im watching Fox Business News right now & that's what they are arguing about. There will be lawsuits for years to come. But there was with Exxon for 20 years & they are still making record profits.

BP will basically go a year without making profit to pay for cleanup. They can easily afford that.

BP supplies 80% of the fuel to the US Department of Defense.
BP was asked by the US EPA not to use a dispersant which is banned in Britain for being toxic to animal life. They used it anyway in the Gulf.
People need to understand that the British own more of America than any other "foreign" country by far. They own many utilities gas, electric, banks..
