Poker Story, Not Another Bad Beat Story
    What are the odds?

We got rained out today for golf so I decided to go play cash game today. I haven't been in a couple of months cause the beats just took their toll and I needed a break.

So I am there playing and nothing and I MEAN NOTHING is going on. I go 20, 30 minutes with like Q-3 off and 6-2 off type hands and then catch something decent to see a flop and miss. This goes on for about 2 hours at the $2-$5 table and I decide if I'm gonna get blinded to death I might as well save a couple dollars and do it at the $2-$2 table.

For the first hour it's the same story. I picked up one small pot with AA but I am still down almost $200 on my day and then it happens. I'm first to open with 6-5 of spades so I call and the button raises to $12 with the small and big calling so I call as well. Flop comes 7-8 of spades and a random club. Check, check, check, $20. Small blind calls, BB folds and I call. BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4 of spade on the turn. Check, check, check. River comes and the small blind checks, I bet $55, button calls, small blind folds.

Very next hand I'm in the BB with 7-5 spades and flop comes 6-8 spades with 9clubs on the turn and then BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the 9 of spades on the river. Obviously as luck would have it there was only one guy in the pot with me and he only had a set of 9's with a straight and flush possibility on the board so I couldn't make anything on the pot.

What are the odds of catching back to back straight flushes?

I don't think I've ever had a straight flush while playing seriously for the past year.

As cool as it was I still basically broke even for the afternoon cause the others didn't have real hands to put a lot of chips at risk. Tonight obviously they have the $500 every 30 minutes for high hands.

Way back when Oregon first got video poker I was playing a joker's wild machine and hit a royal flush then the next hand hit a 5 of a kind.

It's possible to get 5 of a kind? Or did you rig the machine?

Anyone else makes this thread and id probly assume they were full of shit.

Can only imagine the odds on that, unreal.

The dealer said he has been dealing for 12 years and has never dealt it before, a couple in the same day but never back to back like that.

How can you or anyone else be blinded to death in a 2-5 cash game in just 2 hours?

Even if you had a super fast dealer at 25 hands per hour that would mean you saw a grand total of 50 hands,if the table was full with 9 players you would have seen the big blind 5 times and small blind 5 times for a grand total of $35,and im almost positive that your dealer was dealing closer to 15 hands or less per hour making that $35 total considerably lower.

Patience seems to be your weakness not problems with being cold decked,i have gone months looking at Q-3 and 6-2,nevermind 2 hours.

If you feel the BLINDS are affecting your original buy in,in a CASH GAME after 2 hours of play chances are your playing to high for your Bankroll.

What you should of done is jumped into a 2-2 game first especially after a 2 month break, then if you double, triple or quadruple up, jump into the 2-5 game and take your best shot.

Did you mean 1-2 as a never saw a 2-2NL game.

Al. the blinded to death thing is like saying, "Jesus, this game is KILLING me!"or "I caught a fish THIS big" not to be taken literally. I can assure you that the one thing I don't have a problem with at the poker table is patience. I have sat there and never seen a flop in 2 hour stretches at times. Frustrating as hell but sometimes the cards and or situation dictates this.

As for the $2-$2 ML game. The other rooms I have been to offer $5-$10, $2-$5 and $1-$2 NL games but Ocala Poker (and you can look it up for yourself to varify the VALIDITY of my story) offers $5-$10, $2-$5 and $2-$2 NL games.
