I have never really seen this show before for more than a minute but tonight I was channel surfing and watched the whole hour.It intrigued the hell out of me as to how our economy has turned into a reckless crapshoot.
On tonight's show they had the mean English chef guy that tries to turn around the fortunes of failing restaurants go to this little strip mall restaurant in Hollywood.The chef that's the star of the show is a clone of Simon from American Idol where he's very critical of the restaurants and owners he tries turning around.At the same time, he's pretty savvy and experienced where he gives pretty darn good advice.It would be like The Temple Owls getting Bill Belichik as their coach.
So the guy they tried helping tonight was this guy that was totally clueless about running a restaurant.He was just obnoxious and disgusting in every way much like Louie De Palma was in Taxi.The guy couldn't boil an egg the right way.Every idea he had to make his restaurant appealing was a dismal flop.Jethro Bodine from the Beverly Hillbillies had more on the ball than this guy.It turns out where this total loser of a guy had this not so bad looking wife that forked over 300K to get him set up in this business.She seemed a little dimwitted but it went on to say she earned pretty good money doing god knows what.
I imagine that 300K just got them a measely lease in the strip mall and the aboslute junkie looking fixtures,tables,booths and restaurant equipment.There was nothing of equity in that place after spending 300K.
It's a widely known fact that about 85% of restaurants fail and go broke in the first couple years of existence.Are we living in that heated up and inflated of an economy where 20 something year old retards have the means to spend 300K on some risky longshot business endeavor where they have no experience and go into it blind thinking it's only 300K to risk losing.Just by watching crap like this it puts the fear of god in me as to how much of a friggin false economy we have.
As stupid as it would be to do,these people would have been a hell of allot better off making an even money tax free bet on a football game with a reputable offshore book with the 300K
