Time zones are user-definable settings. Your time zone setting is currently set at GMT -12:00. If you're in a location like, say, Costa Rica, then you'll probably want to change your settings to GMT -6:00.

Go to User CP > Edit Options and scroll down to find your Date & Time Options

hong kong is not screwed up, big financial center. central time and mountain time are scrwed up. US should only have 2 time zones. EST and WST (western standard time). there aren't that many important places in between l.a. and new york.
