Unreal disaster. Sickening because it could have and should have been avoided. They estimate that somewhere between 21 million and 46 million gallons of oil has spewed into the Gulf. And BP just got their first bill from the government....$69 million dollars.
Of course WE'RE going to pay for it in the end.....higher gas prices etc.
Just an amazing mess and I don't mean that in a good way either.

Brock, fishing will be coming to a halt as early as this Monday in the Panhandle.
The DOW could drop below 9,000
Only a few people have money in this country.

Enviromentalists caused this.
Making oil companies go 50 freaking miles offshore in mile deep water. WTF? Also opposing onshore drilling in ANWR. Screw the whacko-enviros.

That oil would have been stopped day one if it was on land (where there is oil)

fish i feel bad for my folks in miami.. my poor mom has been going to the beach everyday and praying..
My dad really fears that the oil will hit the Florida Keys and get sucked around the east side of the state..
he hopes after it does that though.. half of it makes it's way to england , while the other half goes to DC
i am glad i am not back home in Florida now to see this.. i grew up in Southern Florida and spent most of my childhood running around both the west and eastern coast of florida.. truly tragic.. from the shrimp in the gulf.. to the turtles that frequent the western part of the state to lay their eggs.. some of natures most wonderful and truly remarkable creations are in danger all because some f u c k decided he needed to cut some corners to get to the oil well faster..

Fish, you have power. Start a boycott of all unnecessary use of gasoline. We in this country should be mad as hell for a number of reasons. Mad enough to do something other than just bitch about a problem which is all most of us do, bitch and nothing else. Our country making no change in the early 70`s after the oil embargo by NOT moving toward solar and wind power to lessen our dependence on not only oil, but foreign oil - which funds terrorism. Move us in the right direction Fish or we are fukked. I just decided I am buying a bicycle this weekend. It will make no difference, but I can not sit by and do nothing. Nothing is what losers do, in my opinion.

Currently in the process of installing two wind turbines on a farm that I own.............lots of loopholes to go through, more they you would ever imagine.
Have you ever seen that commercial on TV for DURACELL batteries involving wind turbines????
Those guys working on the turbines are from IOWA LAKES COLLEGE, and the wind turbine they are working on are located just down the road from those I'm putting up.
By the way, on a side note, I attended Iowa Lakes College for two years.

I wonder when they are gonna start renaming the BP gas stations. Those places are deserted every time I drive past nowadays.

I don't think so. Don't forget, it's a mile down. I'm not saying it would have taken 40whatever days to stop it, but it's not like a couple of guys pull up in a crane truck, get out some wrenches and the problem is over.

BP is the supplier of gas for U.S. armed forces abroad. The military needs that discounted gas. I doubt the U.S. government will come down too hard on them. They'll just make it appear that way for political reasons.

I believe the August date is when the two relief wells they are drilling now will be completed. That's also dependant on if there are no problems like storms, etc...

What's more idiotic? Wanting to drill to relieve our dependence on foreign oil, or restricting drilling so much that oil companies HAVE TO GO 50 FREAKING MILES offshore to drill?
50 miles in mile deep water. Thanks alot, you envirowhacko losers.

Sure who wouldn't want to be on a nice hotel on Florida beach frolicking in the sun or playing golf next to a giant oil rig pumping oil. Will revitalize the tourism economy. And when there is a leak it doesn't have to travel fast to find the pelicans and the turtles. And if you are lucky enough when it explodes you may catch some debris flying in your hotel room or pool. And the smell of fresh pumped oil on the beach? Who can resist to this?

Fishy, wind and solar don't replace the uses of petroleum. You know where its used to make things like rubber, plastic, artificial hearts.....well, I guess people needing those aren't important right?
