Sprint to launch Evo 4G phone on Friday

A network can be whatever you say it is. It does not mean its better. I can say my phone is on the 30G Excelleron Flux network. It doesn't mean it is very good.

All I know is I have been with Sprint since 2001 and it hasn't give me no problems at all. No dropped calls, and a data network that is better then any of the others. For less.

People frown at the $10 dollar add on for 4G with the EVO, but doesn't AT&T require a $30 data charge for the iphone? On a slower network?

Don't hate on the Iphone...The Iphone was the best of its kind for a couple years, now this comes along and is top dog. Iphone is still a great phone on what I think is a better network for calling. It's the only company that I've been able to make calls from the U.P. fishing (wisconsin).


The Evo is better. But Iphone is still good. Evo is also way cheaper of a cell plan. I love the phone, but I don't hate on the Iphone.

call em first...sprint, Radio Shack, Best buy...they very well may be sold out. Someone has one somewhere, but those 3 places are known dealers.

Bestbuy has the phone for 199 with no mail in rebates....I had to drop 700 on 2 phones w/ couple other things, But I had to send in (2) 100 rebates which kinda sucks. But thats because I went to the sprint store, and they paid my early termination fees to get outta T-mobile.

I think the GPS kills it. I turned that off along with the weather sync and stocks sync. My battery seems to do better with all the auto syncing off besides Gmail. I get a full day out of it, and that is ok with me as it goes on the charger at night. My biggest complaint is the tasks that get started without me even starting them. I always kill them before the end of any session on my EVO.

What case did you get for your EVO? I ended up getting the Zagg InvisibleSHIELD put on mine. Front, back and sides.

Verizon's 4G is called LTE. Sprint 4G is in selected markets as of now. LTE for Verizon is being tested in a few markets now, rollout later this year.

Sprint plans are cheaper for individual plans, not so much for family plans. Yes, Sprint is still cheaper but not worth the trade off.

Yeah I have the bodyglove too but took it off and put the invisibleSHIELD on it. Check the site out, they put it on just about any gadget.

4G yes, the phone is android and has much to offer aside from speed.

Where I live, it's not 4G, but I go down the road 1 mile to the sports bar, and it's 4G, without dropping in and out. The 4G coverage stops at the street next to our subdivision.

On my way to work, I'm in 4G and while at work it's 4G.

I'm in Chicago suburbs.

Almost forgot to add that EVO's have already been seen running Adobe flash Can you say HULU? never going to see that on iphone.
