Defense AND Experience Wins Championships (Blog)
Defense AND Experience wins championships. Now we all know how the Boston Celtics have that core group of veterans aka the “big 3” but that group has only played in one NBA Finals in their careers. Rondo was not much of a factor in his first NBA Finals so this will be his first without the umbilical chord. Experience has been a factor much overlooked this playoffs (myself included) which is why I am going with experience here in the NBA Finals. The Cleveland Cavaliers and The Orlando Magic were the two best teams in the regular season, the regular season is a level playing field for the most part when it comes to experience, but when it comes to the playoffs the Celtics had much more playoff experience than Cleveland and Orlando, which is why they made it look easy rolling that big Celtic train through Miami, Cleveland, and Orlando. In my opinion, the NBA Finals is on a whole different level. We saw last year how Orlando beat Boston and Rolled through Cleveland going into the NBA Finals. Then that lack of experience came back to haunt them. Most importantly, and most overlooked, is the experience of the head coach. When you are a head coach coaching in a NBA Finals game towards the end of a high intensity close battle the game may seem a blur to you if you have not been there much. Doc Rivers is a great coach, and he has one his only NBA Finals appearance but that was against a much weaker NBA team. Phil Jackson on the other hand, well I do not need to say much he has WON not been to but WON 10 NBA Finals series. This is also his third appearance in a row. This is standard operating procedure to this team. Another year, another finals. Where the Celtics and Doc Rivers have big smiles on their faces 24/7 thinking about how everyone wrote them off in the regular season, and now it is great to be here. Do I think Doc Rivers will be the “master of panic” of last year? No. But you definitely have the give the edge to the seasoned Phil Jackson. That being said, here are my predictions for the series:

Game 1: Boston 84 Los Angeles 91. The Lakers have shown they are a versatile team, they really do know how mold to their opponent. When they play Phoenix they can outscore them, when they play a hard physical team like Boston they will match up and win the defensive battles.

    Game 2: Boston 88 Los Angeles 94.

    Game 3: Los Angeles 91 Boston 93

    Game 4: Los Angeles 103 Boston 99

    Game 5: Los Angeles 82 Boston 93

    Game 6: Boston 91 Los Angeles 102

    My Prediciton: Lakers in 6
    My MVP: Pau Gasol

    My plays:

Lakers for the series -180 5X
    Lakers in 6 +300 3X

    Game 1: Lakers -5.5 2X
    Game 1: Under 191.5 2X

Good Luck Everyone, and lets hope for a great series.
