Was in there today for supplies. Within 30 seconds of entering the store, I was accosted four times by clerks asking if I needed any help. I walk fast, so a lot of ground was covered in that 30 seconds, but gimme a break! It's not like they're on commission, trying to snag a sale.

These people all wear the orange vest or bib, they're easily identified if you need their help. And not all customers are clueless about what they want and where to find it.

Total turn-off. Don't these people have something better to do?

Thats how it is at target as well. I work there i know how it is. If the upper management see's you no asking someone can i help you find something its as good as a right up. I dont respect the policy but shit people gotta keep there jobs.

Let me give you a recent experience. I needed to buy screws to attach the fence board which is 5/8" thick to the 2X4 which is 1.5" thick. I asked for the guy to help me. Bear in mind that I knew what I wanted. Guy handed me these screws that were 3" long and says these is what you need. Off course I laughed at him telling him if I use these the screw will go through the 2x4 and don't like to have poking hazards on my fence for the kids. I told him I would buy the 1.25" long screws.
