The Melbourne Cup horse race from Australia last night,what an extravaganza the whole country of Australia puts on for it.I was glad that HRTV over here shows it every year.If you take into consideration that Australia has about the same number of people as Canada,you really have to be impressed how the whole country shuts down and has a holiday for one horse race.The purse is about 4 times the size of the purse for the Kentucky Derby.It's like the Super Bowl times 4 for Australia.I'll bet as soon as they ever get full fledged casinos the race and events surrounding it will go down the tubes.

i seen a couple people posted their picks in the horse forum, so i tried to find the results to see how they did, and it took me a while
to find a site that had them. that was a big race, i think there was like 21 horses that ran, and 3 scratches.
