If you want to be in contention for Handicapper of the Month please start keeping a SBR spreadsheet. I know some of you don't, and that's OK, just makes it easier if you do. For those of you that keep a record in your thread, please keep a monthly record in addition to overall.

HOTM will be awarded each month to the best overall capper in all sports combined. Other things will be taken into consideration, but the overall monthly record will carry alot of weight. If you just cap one sport or four that's fine. There must be honesty in your record keeping & all those who have a thread know the posters who follow take care of that.

If you want to be considered for this award please leave your comments in this thread.

Mods, I would like this to be put in all the sport subforums.

I think it's a good idea. I told Goldilocks last month that he needed to get onto that if he wanted to encourage people to keep a spreadsheet and make the award meaningful. The HOTM will be making many others on the forum money - the least they deserve is some sort of tangible award that's worth something to them.

What's the policy on editing and deleting picks on the spreadsheet?

I also at times, see games misgraded on spreadsheets and people playing various odds.

Thats where I'm kinda stuck. I understand that you may have to edit something on a SS, but just like contests ran in threads, there can really be no editing. I need ideas from you guys on this & how to keep it honest.

Like Shari said, the HOTM should be a prestigious award. This is a handicapping forum & to be named the HOTM on the best sports gambling forum on the net should be an honor.

Thats why I want to give the winner a little something for taking the time to keep a record & keeping their threads under control & not making outrageous unit claims, etc...

SBR needs to update the SS technology. Make sure games are auto graded and the SS cannot be edited after the fact.

JJ, get your team to whip up some code ASAP.

Will this work? If they want to be considered each day - they submit a screenshot of their spreadsheet to you somehow (maybe start a new thread each day) a minimum of 10 minutes before the start of the first game on the card. If they're going to change a pick (because of line movement, etc) they need to come back to the thread and state the change of play - before the game starts according to SBR time. If they don't, the original screenshot stands, win or lose.

Why isnt the SS set up like the contests? Once the game starts you cant edit can you? I need to play around with the SS a little

Yeah, fair enough. To be honest, I really can't see Paco keeping a spreadsheet or a record - he's always posting from his iPhone and it's impossible to do it. Why not just go on the honour system then? There are so many hawkeyes around here that no one's going to get away with much of anything.

he can do it from iphone, whatever. Just when you have time post your record in your thread & keep up with it. I think actually getting something for this award will motivate people to keep records, I hope anyway

The only problem with that is that you can't see other people's picks in a contest until the games start. If I understand correctly, part of it is for the better of everyone. So everyone can see everyone's picks, and hopefully we all cash out in the long run right?

I thought about that Pavy, does the contests have options for soccer??? I dont bet soccer, dont go to the forum, but know theres alot of Tennis & soccer cappers here that may want to participate
