Former NBA star Antoine Walker gets Las Vegas court date on unpaid casino debts
By The Associated Press (CP) – 1 hour ago

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Former NBA star Antoine Walker has a court date to face felony bad cheque charges in Nevada for failing to repay some $900,000 in gambling debts and penalties to three Las Vegas casinos.

Walker's lawyer, Jonathan Powell, appeared Tuesday before a Las Vegas judge, who set arraignment June 14 for Walker on criminal charges that could get him up to 12 years in prison.

Powell referred to Walker's bankruptcy filing last week. It claims US$12.7 million in liabilities and $4.3 million in assets — including the 2006 NBA championship ring Walker won with the Miami Heat.

Prosecutor Bernie Zadrowski says Walker has paid about $135,000 toward settling his casino debts to Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood and the Red Rock Resort.

Once you leave the NBA, what do players do? Nothing, they get board and do things like this.

this guy is a huge degen

apparently he plays high stakes poker and bet a high stakes player (Tuan Le) $50,000 on a game of one-on-one where Toine would play in dress shoes, one hand behind his back, and can only score beyond the 3 point line...lol

also lamont jordan who play(ed?) in the NFL is a degen as well

At that amount (millions!), it is along the lines of fraud more than just owing money.

Casino markers are like post-dated checks........ thus when they bounce, they are criminal, not civil.

they should put him to work as a greeter or procurer of nba players to bet at said casino he owes money at until they recover their cash. putting him in jail won't get them anywhere..
