i don't think it is a good idea. they cut a slit on your eye and shoot laser into it. my friend who done it, she has dry eyes...she blinks a lot now. but i guess it does save you the hassle of wearing glasses.

        Don't let JJ preform it

It;s a good procedure, I had it done, . Its not for everybody, your expectations have to be resonable.

....Just don't let JJ preform it, especially after a tough loss!

They have drops now that suppose to prevent and or cure the dry eye effect.

Make sure the cut is done by the laser not by the blade
I did mine 4 years and all is ok, intralase is the laser used to cut it and is more expensive($400 for each eye). I dont have dry eyes!
My brother also did this maybe 3 years before me, at that time intralase did not exist, thye used the blade and he gets dry eyes

I agree...I had the procedure done 6 years ago via laser...don't have dry eyes and everything is good. Vision went from 20/400 to 20/15....better then an average person's vision. Cost $500 per eye back then for me but included several follow up visits. Make sure you go to a place that's got a good name or is recommended by a friend that is happy with the procedure. The key thing is they have one chance to get it right when doing the procedure, so go to a doctor that's being doing this for years...not a newbe doctor.

The experience from my understanding differs a lot from person to person. I know my mom had it done and she saw great for a couple days then went almost blind. The vision gradually improved and in the end she was able to go from super thick glasses to only kind of thick glasses. But it was still not a great situation. That being said I have had several other friends who have had it done and had fantastic results (no downside). I probably need it done myself but i'm waiting for robotic eyes
