Realistically, how far does the U.S go?

First off, I am very doubtful about this team, just like I was 4 years ago. We really have not improved and judging by our pre-world cup games, I'm not liking our chances. I know we were undermanned in our loss to Czech, I live in CT so I got to see the game live but realistically its difficult to see the U.S going very far. While, admittedly i'm not the biggest soccer fan nor the most knowledgable but it seems like our performance in the Confederation Cup was a fluke and there is no way we will endure that success in the world cup. My prediction is a loss to England to start and we will barely make it out of our Group just to lose the first game out of it. Even with this said, I will be cheering 100% and wouldn't admit to what I am thinking with some of my foreign friends and would never bet against my country.

Now that I'm done. Thoughts about where the U.S will end up?

We came close in Hockey this year. I do see your point though. Im hopin for the same magic that helped us get into the Gold Medal game of the olympics.

difference is no one cares about that cup

it will be tough for US to make it out of the group.. obviously algeria wont qualify but england and slovenia are my picks to go through, but I would not be surprised to see the US in the round of 16

Depends on the condition of Rooney, England is just an average team without him playing at 100%

I still think England out classes them even without Wayno but if he is out or even limited I will take a stab on the US on the ML at a nice price.

They are saying he will be 100% for the game, but we will have to wait and see the day of really. If no story breaks on him not being 100%, ima stay away from it.
