    Halladay's rubber
I heard marlins ground crew pull up the pitching rubber and gave it to Halladay. Is that something that is done in baseball when there is a perfect game?

Never heard of it, but it was a nice gesture. I know Rickey Henderson pulled up his record setting stolen base.

they break down that mound all the time, since its a football stadium, probably no big deal.

Never heard of that being done either, but do feel it is a nice gesture as well.

nice, but uncalled for. he wasn't the home pitcher. if that ground crew was unemployed and on the streets doc almost certainly wouldn't give them a penny. he'd never reach out to them, why should they reach out to him?

The groundcrew did not make this call. It came from Marlins management. That is certain.
