The look in the eye of someone in the armed forces when you roll down a window at a stop light or run into one on the street and say "Thank You" is priceless.
My dad hit Omaha on D-3 . Did you ever see The Longest Day movie, when the jeeps are going up the road after the beach is taken and the high ups are riding and the low ranks are walking? He caught a ride as a recent promotion to Sargent.Some Lieutenant stops his jeep and tells him to get the F out . He proceeds to punch the guy in the mouth, get back in the jeep and keep going. About a month later , he is demoted back to private. He said it was worth it.
Anyway, got off topic but thought I would share his story.

Say "thank you" you guys if the occasion presents itself and I promise you will feel the energy.

They provide a blanket of security for our way of life that many people out there would love to destroy and have have tried over the years, but our military have not let them. I served in Operation Enduring Freedom. You dont know what it is like until you spend 7 months on Afghanistan soil. Maybe you should try it. You dont have to agree with what the military is doing, but being an American you should respect it. God Bless all the Troops.

I lived in the middle of a war dude.. not as a armed solider but an unarmed kid... I never said it's easy but not being easy does NOT make it right... I don't respect or agree with it...
