Over: Heidi Montag has separated from husband Spencer Pratt
The Hills star Heidi Montag has called off her relationship with Spencer Pratt - and she couldn't be happier.
After annoucing her marriage to her co-star is over, she took to her Twitter page, telling fans: 'This is going to be the best summer of my life.'
She is swiftly making other living arrangements, and preparing to move in with Jennifer Bunney, who briefly appeared in the MTV series.
'Heidi and I are moving into a Malibu beach house this summer,' Bunney told RadarOnline.com. 'We’re really excited to do girly things and show people who we really are and that we’re really fun, sweet and loyal girls.'
Montag and Pratt's very public relationship has become increasingly bizarre in recent months, with Pratt admitting he had banned his wife from watching TV and using the internet.
Montag has also become estranged from her family and just weeks ago sought a restraining order against her mother, Darlene Egelhoff.
'Heidi is looking to move out due to all the fake bad press that Spencer controls,' a spokesperson for the star told TMZ yesterday.
'She's tired of it and is looking for a place and wants to focus on her acting career.'
The announcement shed light on 23-year-old Montag's earlier tweet, which read: 'I am not Heidi Pratt, I am Heidi Montag.'
Montag, a self-confessed plastic surgery addict who underwent 10 procedures in one day in November, has been trying to carve out a career as a Hollywood actress.
She is due to make a small appearance in Jennifer Aniston's upcoming film, Just Go With It, and earlier this week posted an online audition tape for Transformers 3 in the hope of catching the attention of director Michael Bay.

Montag first became famous as Lauren Conrad’s best friend on MTV reality show The Hills.
They eventually ended up as enemies after Montag started dating Pratt, who didn't hide his disdain for Conrad.
The couple's tumultuous romance was chronicled throughout the show.
During a recent episode, Pratt, 26, said: 'I don't let her go on TV, no computers.
'The only thing Heidi does is read and write poetry and pray and pet puppies... She is logged out of The Matrix.'
They wed in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in 2009.
Pratt first proposed in 2007 but the pair split after he was caught cosying up with other women at a nightclub. They reconciled soon after.
