      That is very unprofessional of them

      I have never had a bank teller ask me where I got a check from.

      I did deposit a lot of cash once, over $20K, and they didn't ask about that. I decided I should come up with something and told them I hit a jackpot at the casino.

      All checks can be deposited in the ATM.

      The best thing to do is to have an account where organizations have business accounts and they are use to seeing big checks.

        The bank works for you not the other way around. Remember that.

        Depositing through the ATM is a way to avoid this if you are uncomfortable, but the teller flat out should not be questioning you unless you are doing something super suspect.

        If they hassle you too much just take your business elsewhere right on the spot. Thousands of other banks ready and willing to welecome you with open arms.
