St. Louis Cardinals Money Line Tonight
Tonight at 10:05 we have the San Diego Padres hosting the St. Louis Cardinals. Adam Wainwright is on the hill for the red birds, where once again he has been a stud. He is current 6-2 with a 2.49 ERA. Also, the fact that Wainwright is in a pitcher's park such as Petco, it is another great reason to like the Cardinals tonight. John Garland is throwing for the Padres, and he has some very impressive numbers, but unfortunately for him it looks as if his luck is running out as of late. His last two starts he had 11 innings pitched, 6 walks, 6 earned runs, and 15 hits. He has been good at home, but that was when he was hot earlier in the season. I do not see him dominating Holliday and Pujols tonight. Garland is also going for a chance to win his 6th straight decision in a row, something he has not done since 2006 when he was with the White Sox and off to a hot start. Garland was the winning pitcher his last two starts, but they where not quality starts. He will not be able to get away with that tonight when he is going up against Adam Wainwright. Last season John Garland had two starts against the Cardinals, he went 0-2 with a 8.38 ERA. Pujols also owns his as he went 2-5 those two games with 2 home runs. Although recently, Pujols has been struggling at the dish. He is 3 for his last 20, but we all know it is only time for a monster game whenever he gets in these "slumps." They say he is in a slump but his batting average is .303, pretty low for Pujols, but still the guy will be fine. I really like Pujols to break out tonight based on his success against the Padres, and against John Garland, the stars are all lining up for a breakout game from Mr. Albert. My play tonight is definitely on the Cardinals money line currently it is hovering around -135. The run line also looks like it holds some value as the Cardinals are currently -1.5 for +130ish. The only thing keeping me from playing the money line big is those west coast pitcher's duels we all see. I do think Garland will blow up tonight, but who knows? He may be as comfortable as he ever has been in his career on the bump at Petco for some reason. One thing is for certain if he does bring his A game it will still be in a losing effort. Adam Wainwright will bring his filthy stuff to the park tonight, and have the Padre hitters begging for mercy. If you are a over/under guy which I am, but not for baseball. I would definitely have to say under 6.5 looks very good right now. Two good pitchers on the west coast in a pitchers park really sets up for a nice game. My final prediction: St. Louis 4 - San Diego 2.
