Do Bodog cheat on poker guarantee tournments?
This is what I notice, games with a guarantee and late seating normally fill up till the cap of the guarantee by the end of the first hour or end of the late seating period, making any +EV gone.

Say we have a $5000 guarantee, and the buy in is $50 per person. The game would start with 50 people making the pot $2500, but before the end of the first house it will eventually go up to 100 people. From Bodog perspective they lose no extra money by adding player because their min payout is still $5000.

I notice this because on tubro tournments I see alot of people still joining, even when blinds are 200-400 and your starting chips is at 1500. But once it hits the min guarantee payout they stop joining.

it's called late registration and as long as they allow it, then its not cheating on their behalf, most poker sites allow late registration.

I hate late registration, signup before the tourney starts or find another tourney, its fukin ridiculous with these guaranteed tourneys to have no idea how many ppl are going to be in the tourney, I mean a 5k guaranteed with 50 players with a minute left til it starts of course you're going to signup but 5k guaranteed with 100 players and its not nearly as appealing, when the site is doubling the pot it doubles your return, ur basically getting a 100 dollar buy in for 50 bucks

agreed, but it's not in the sites interest to give us free money

I don't know about bodog but back when i used to play on stars, they would almost ALWAYS make it to the guarantee by the time late registration was over, very rare occurence when they had to cover the overlay and juice the pot for us.

No doubt, pokerstars doesnt shell out shit for their guaranteed tourneys, most of the time its not even close, if its 100k guaranteed the pot will be 150k+, if its 15k there will be like 25k in there, bodog is one of those smaller sites where the guarantees in the past have actually had them losing significant money in tourneys, way in the past they had for example a 5k guaranteed with only 4k in the pot so bodog had to pay a grand or so to put on the tourney, needless to say that is a good situation for the players as long as the site isnt rigged

I just feel like late registration is unfair to the players bc you have no idea how many ppl are in the tourney, in guaranteed tourneys it is especially unfair bc the lower # of entrants the better value it is
