What's the Deal with this show? Why isn't there an SBR team on this. We can just travel around the country and buy old shit off old people and double or triple our monies on all of it and just blow it all on gambling and whores. They show how much they but it for and then a screen just pops up and says usually 2 or 3x what they bought it for. But they don't show them selling it or having an expert verify what it's value is. Is this shit staged? And I think the short stubby dude is a fruit.

Was at their shop in Vegas a couple months ago. Was told by a worker that the guys you see on tv only come out into the pawnshop from 10-1 Mon-Fri. The shop seems so big on tv, but its really small in person. Easy to find tho, just a couple blocks from the Stratosphere..

The days they are filming the line is wrapped around the buildings. Even on days they aren't there are always a few cabbies out front that are waiting to give the tourists they dropped off a ride back to the strip. People snapping pictures with the sign, ect. It's quickly becoming a major Vegas attraction.

Ok then here is my question? Who and how do they decide who gets to go in and pawn things and get to be put on tv if there is hundreds of people there when they film?

That's a good question. I'm guessing they do some sort of screening outside to see who has the most interesting stuff to sell, then they rest of the line is let in a few by few to be "extras" who are shopping in the background.. But that just a guess.

Seriously I have this olddddd cup looking thing (almost like a trophy) and it is from like 1856 and says this land of 60 acres, 2 mules, 1 horse belongs too.....and then the engraving sort of just fades and I cant really make out the name.....It's in my garage and it was from my fathers father so no clue where he got it because he was from the old country. Might be worth something for all I know.

Meanwhile the dude that just appraised it prolly gave the pawn shop owner 10k behind the building for it and then auctioned it off for 15k

Lol was just talking about that to someone. But in reality, it is a pawn shop. Most that go in there are A.) Compulsive gamblers that are dead broke and desperate for money. B.) Drug addicts needing a fix and quick cash. C.) Some poor middle aged married man whose wife keeps naggin him to get this shit outta the garage.

Is there any place to watch American Pickers or Pawn Stars episodes online? I've missed half the Pawn Stars episodes and just have got into watchin AP, these shows are the best on TV imo

I like pawn shop more. The coolest thing they had was some ancient sundial carved out of ivory from the 15th century or something. But, the guy who brought in a lottery ticket with george washington's signature takes the cake for highest value I seen.

Theres one episode where the expert just looks at the Pawn Shop dude as hes walkin out and says You Better Buy That! After that you know that shit is valuable as hell since the expert is nuttin in his pants over it. Yea thats true, but still same difference, that shits gettin sold to the expert for much more than he sold it to the pawn shop for so why not just negotiate with the expert

Just seems like you would say okay so its worth at least 12k how do I get this thing in an auction rather than sellin it for 2 grand and a craptastic guitar
