Let's say Dozer,John,Sean and whoever else owns this place wanted to sell.
How much do you think they would get?

It is hard to put a price on SBR's value from a dot com perspective, because those guys you mentioned are what makes SBR what it is. With some new guys behind SBR, it would have a totally different identity and the value/rep probably depreciates knowing most people in this industry.

millions!!!
LOW BALL:$5,000,000
Thanks to it's superior content SBR's reputation precede it,this website as a humongous among of power and influence!!!
I would be surprise if less than a million people a week visit SBR ,if one take into account North America and Europe you have 900 million people. The advertising revenues alone must be worth their weight in gold. Most Europeans are educated and speak a second language when it's not english (and 99.9% of the time it's English)and they are for the most part gambling degenerates whom need good information also!.That is why over the past month or so i have notice that a lot of threads have been appearing from the keypads of paid shills beholden to u.k. books begging SBR to reconsider their ratings and/or players their bad reviews of Euro books.I think that they have been suffering from low "sales"lately because many have seen on SBR if not a severe reprimand from the rating list but the more potent and potentially disastrous AMONG negative testimonies from many of their victims!!
Witch negative experience are written for every one to read regardless of what the website said officially.
MORE POWER TO THEM!!!!!!

We get a lot of folks asking. We show up in some kind of stats program I guess.
Like the posters said this site has value because of guys like Sean and Bill and their staff. Take them out and replace them with guys who think in green numbers and this place wouldnt be worth the bandwidth its written on.(did i just coin a new phrase?? )

Shouldn't you be studying the games, so you can put in your picks already?

Give or take some, this is what I would guess.
TheRx $1.5 m
Covers $9 m
EOG $350k
MW, MadJ and 911 $200k-$250k each.
We aquired and later sold a few websites. Different dynamics goes into to valuing sites in cyberville.

Agreed,
A guy can just put some money in advertising and within a few months have a nice forum. Not a knock, but just the truth. SBR is a great site, just the worth is not there to purchase unless someone brought in a ton of players

I agree with this number. I think that the range of 500 to around 700k is a good estimate.

Most people underestimate advertising cost. Back in 1994, if I remember correctly, a one page 4 color add in Sports Illustrated was about 3 or 4 hundred thousand dollars for a one time run. I think that was based on 3 million readers.
SBR is not in that ballpark, but I guestimate a value of 2 to 3 million.

Ido you would short the stock? Wow, thats a true critic.
Not real familiar with Cappers Mall. But as some have pointed out, value is related with how long and how much money it would take to build up a duplicate site from scratch. Take a mid site like EOG. You would burn at least $350k to build up to their current level. So if you could buy it for $350k it would be a decent deal. Or said differently, cost less than building from scratch.
