Read that Gale Sayers is critical of the current state of the Bears. When Brian Urlacher caught word of Sayers comments, he ripped him, saying he never won anything.

When I first read about this, I was thinking Sayers was a bitter old man. But I think he really cares about the Bears, and doesnt think enough players on their team cares. I think Urlacher shouldnt have gone to the media and is making himself look real bad now.

Sayers was the best running back from the 60's and him ripping the bears shows his old school heart. Urlacher is the face of the franchise and needed to respond IMO. Urlachers a little old school as well. They both have the same interest in heart for the franchise. Another superbowl.

Although he holds a few records.. Gale Sayers career is not impressive.. Canton must of been pretty empty before they put him in there

Sayers is the only running back from the 60's that could play in todays game. Jim Brown ran upright and would get smashed by the neandrathal sized defenders of todays game. Sayers was ahead of his time. Cant control a career ending injury.

I agree.. Sayers was Barry Sanders before Barry Sanders.. Unfortunately, statistically he doesn't look that "Great" on paper.

Sayers has every right to speak out on the current state of the franchise....and Urlacher did nothing wrong by stepping up in response and being a vocal leader for the team. That's what this team needs is someone to shoulder some of the issues and get them on the right track.

Granted, but sanders quit. Injury forced Sayers outta the game. Reason the stats dont comply, and he was in a system where spilt time with Piccolo another aspect of decreased numbers.
