    that's because english is the most widely spoken language in the entire world, in fact i believe it's considered the universal language and depending on where you look and how the stats are compiled it's the number 2 or 3 most spoken when it comes to the numbers of millions of people. second only to chinese and that's because china has over a billion people and multiple dialects so it's expected.


    and for me, i was raised in the US, brought up speaking english, but there is a large hispanic community in my area and because i'm in a medical profession seeing patients i knew that long before heading to graduate school i would need to learn another language, and therefore am fluent in spanish, which my patients definitely love and i'm proud of that fact
