they will keep him down long enough to control his rights the longest...nothing to do with numbers right now, just rules on free agency, ETC

Nats have a lot of good players who have not played yet, Strasburg, Flores, Storen (played two games), and Harper who they will take with the #1 pick in a few weeks. Need to get all these guys in the majors and make a run at the playoffs.

they can't and never will sell tickets to that park though. Brand new and sits mostly empty. There's a reason Washington has lost 2 MLB teams in the past.

Look for Washington to make a run at Cliff Lee and call up Strasburg in late June. Will be able to make a run at a playoff spot.

I believe they can bring him up in a week or two, and keep his arb clock to 6 years...although he'll be a super two more than likely

There were 12000 at Strasburg's last home minor league game. This kid Bryce Harper who we are drafting is the biggest prospect in baseball history might go straight to the majors at 17.

stadiums not in the greatest part of the city for one.
but straussy has been generating buzz for the minor league affiliates, you can debt his major league debut is a sell-out.

I was listening on I think ESPN last week and they were talking if the Nats are still in the hunt and they bring this kid up around the break, the Nats might spend the big bucks on another big arm; can't believe the Nats are going to be in this position and us Bucco fans are going on year 17 or 18 straight, forget how many because it has been that long.

I was thinking the same but they keep saying they don't want to ruin him by rushing him but the kid is ready, bring him up.

If they can just fill some seats, they would be able to pay for some free agents. If he pitches great, they will fill up every 5th game at least.

RE: Bryce Harper
You won't be seeing him quite yet. It's a different situation than Strasburg. He essentially just finished his junior year of HS, although he obtained a GED so he could enter early.

They want to save money. They control him a year longer this way.
Anyway, tonight is just unfair. He's basically pitching against another AAA lineup. He was promoted, but he isn't facing a major league lineup quite yet.
