he is trying to say that if a bunch of professional bettors start making 2k point bets on every game they believe they have an edge on and then using the points to buy 50 IPADs that it will cost the SBR system too much money to survive.

I don't believe it will happen and even if it did start to happen SBR can always increase the prices on the items in the sbr store, thus greatly reducing the value of our daily 7 points.

I know they are in the black, especially the casino. That is not really the point though, they are giving us the points and receiving nothing in return other than hopefully increased website traffic. The Sbr book can be in the black and yet still have to pay out $10,000 worth in items. (what sbr has to decide is whether or not the point system is increasing their website traffic and referrals ect by $10,000).

I'm sure SBR gets good deals on the items in the store so i'm sure that they are not giving out 10,000 worth in items very quickly but Pavy is just pointing this out as a possibility.

and Fish overall i agree with you, i believe pavy's concerns are un-founded, the sbr point system will not be going anywhere, anytime soon. Even if a few sharps start pounding the system.

I believe the point I made was one 2k points sharp bettor will not bankrupt the system but 3-4 sharps working together and beating the book for the max would. If that happens SBR will take measures that will affect the other 1000 posters who bet 10 points every game. So lets be careful and don't let 3-4 people ruin the fun for 1000.

pardon my ignorance but other than going on a huge run or winning contests how are more than a couple of people going to get 2000 points?

there is not much we can do, so I wouldn't worry about it. I suppose SBR could lower Fishheads limits

One time I went in the book and i found somewhere it had the days biggest winners. I don't remember many people winning over 1,000 points in a day, so unless things have changed there are not many guys making big bets right now.

Mike it's not that hard as you think. I was doing 10 team parlays with the daily 6 points for 2 weeks. Then on the 15th try I hit one for 1500 points. Then with 300-500 bets I build it to 5000 points in one more week. I could have gone on and on if I wanted.

now the points system may be successful as a whole and be bringing in more revenue and getting a lot of new posters on sbr's sheet at the sponsor books they sign up at..... but it is impossible for the points system in and of itself to "be in the black"

Meanwhile Pavy is saying they will go broke because of 3-4 sharps...........LOL.........and he knows this firsthand because he himself stated he could run his pt balance up in the SBR SPORTSBOOK to the millions if given the oppurtunity and desire(see post #12).

This is good stuff

I think SBR should raise the price of their caps and koozies to offset some of the potential losses down the road in the sportsbook.
