Any computer experts here, router issues
Can't connect with my linksys router, but i see it is detecting it. currently connecting without the router. Ive done everything i think i need to do but not working,i think i created a second wireless connection also so not sure whats going on

Cannot connect with primary dsn server, windows found a problem that cannot be repaired automatically. I have everything written down if anyone can help , perhaps on here or on messenger

Linksys wanted to charge me 20 bucks just to talk to me, i asked if they would accept SBR pts

Are you sure the ethernet cable is plugged in correctly?

      unplug power to router
unplug ethernet from back of router [coming from cable modem]
wait a minute, plug the shit back in

works 95% of time for this problem

if not, unplug everything including cable modem and repeat

Have you updated your router's firmware anytime recently?

You may have to do a hard reset to restore to factory defaults and set up your network again. Without knowing your model I'll just give the generic advice:

"A Hard Reset (also called 30/30/30) makes your router go back to a Factory Default Settings.
It's very simple to do, but doesn't works in all cases.
With your router ON, press the Reset button for 30 seconds. Unplug the power cable from the unit WITHOUT releasing the Reset button and wait 30 more seconds. Then plug in the power again BUT KEEP HOLDING the Reset button for another 30 seconds.
It does not work in all cases, but maybe can help."

If that doesn't work you'll have to find the specific instructions to do a hard reset with your router (search the web). If that fails to work you may have a hardware problem. I would suggest that you install DD-WRT if it still does not work after the hard reset(s)/new network setups. It's a little complicated but there are detailed instructions available on the web.

If you value your time after doing the hard resets I would just plunk down $50 bucks on a new router.

So it isn't an issue with the modem, it's an issue with the router and computer. Are you using a DSL modem or cable?

yes and it comes on, but still can't connect with router if i take this ethernet cable out of my laptop and back in the router.

earlier before i did the reset it would detect the router at least

Do you have an Ethernet cable running from your modem(cable or dsl) to the WLAN port on the router? You need another Ethernet Cable running from the router to your computer if you need wired internet access (via the LAN port on your router).

Long shot but maybe try and re-download the drivers for your wireless card.

You might have to download the wireless driver on that page.

You probably need to update something. If you go to the linksys site you can update firmware or something like that? My thing was under warranty, so I let the guy over the phone do everything. It sounds really similar to my problem I had recently.
