I have a bunch of free DVD/Videogame rentals that I will never use since they are not open anymore in my hometown.

Well I shouldnt say a bunch, I just searched and can only find 6 of them. But they would be worth around $6 each for games. These are the 5 day rentals too.

Well I dont need them since i store closed last week

Mine closed down about a year or so back. It was by far the best video rental place in town

They offered the best terms. Well they are shutting down 50% or more of their stores nationwide and mine closed 5 days ago

Hollywood Video owner files for bankruptcy

Second trip through Chapter 11 in three years for struggling rental chain

          Special Report

For decades, U.S. manufacturing jobs have been slipping away even as American factories churn out billions of dollars worth of goods.

          updated 3:49 p.m. ET, Wed., Feb. 3, 2010

NEW YORK - Movie Gallery Inc., owner of the Hollywood Video movie rental chain, has filed for Chapter 11 protection and plans to close 805 stores — about a third of its total.
Its the second trip through bankruptcy court in just three years for Movie Gallery. The company is struggling with competition as more people choose to stream videos online from Netflix Inc. and other services or pick up $1-per-night rentals at Redbox kiosks.
The company, which is based in Wilsonville, Ore., first landed in bankruptcy court in October 2007, unable to sustain the debt it took on in its $850 million acquisition of rival Hollywood Entertainment Corp. in 2005. Movie Gallery agreed to assume about $350 million of Hollywood Entertainment's borrowings as a part of the deal.

I know all about the bankruptcy, but they are keeping open over 50% of their stores. Someone here at this forum must live in a big city.

Well do you know of anyone who could use free videogames or DVD rentals?

I would rather send them to someone who rents games since games would cost around $7.50 per rental.

Should have let Blockbuster take them over. Not a good business to be in.

Blockbuster is closing stores all over the place as well. We lost 2 of our 3 Blockbuster stores. But they have added blockbuster kiosks in Supermarkets

Come on BROCK, I know that you use VUZE just like I do.

But these are mainly for games anyway. It would be stupid to use them for DVD's because of the price difference

Blockbuster is about to declare bankruptcy too. Blame that on Netflix and those red booths outside grocery stores.

I agree, but I am just trying to give away some videogame rentals for free here.

Free movie sites on the internet are killing videostores as well
