Most likely the points finance manager of SBR got a hold of John's offer and decided to close betting in fear of decimating the whole points system. You can't run a book by offering one sided bets even if it's 500 to 1. There is no way to recover from such a loss if it happens.

The candidates this year were underwhelming for the most part, but it still wasn't nearly enough for a beast like Miss DC to have a real chance.

As a poster said, she had a better chance at the Belmont.
