    Sad day for Athletic/Brewer fans

    https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/...-bando-dies-78

I met Sal a few times. I can say that he was hugely respected.

Retired year before the Brewers went to the World Series in 1982.

Will remember him as a key player on the Athletic championship teams. RIP, Sal.

Awesome, Digg. 3rd base is a tough position, Sal was good.

I'll forever think about those A's teams as the Mustache Men.

Me and My buddy always play if you can be on any team in any sport what would it be.It was always close between the mid 70s reds or Oakland. Those teams were the best.Bert Campaneros was always at Turf Paradise in the mid to late 90s when i was a pro horseplayer. We would talk baseball all the time no one bothered him a lot of people did not know who he was!

That's awesome, Mac. Those were two great teams.
