Why are these NFL GM’s in love with playground quarterbacks?
The ravens quarterback is obviously unique but I’m not sold that they can win or go deep in playoffs

The accuracy is lacking And a lot of these guys aren’t tall

I’m still the traditional quarterback tight pocket tall and strong and just has enough to move around

there is a fine line where it becomes way too much scrambling and the pass is lacking accuracy and strength and gets picked off on the wide or short throw.

If GM's stick to the typical tall, accurate, pure pocket passer it would favor a certain demographic and lead to accusations of bias.

the QB is WRs are so protected today by refs, anytime they handle the ball or are thrown the ball
it is to your advantage rule-wise, and there is a good chance to break the ineffective "tackle", as no real hits
are allowed against these positions anymore. Those hits that occur and tackles are always subject to interpretation
so a flag drop and AUTOMATIC FIRST DOWN is in play. You don't get this with running backs.

So - the longer you have QB movement before the pass the more chance of a rewarding call. The more time for
the QB to draw a foul or the WR's to exploit contact. Similar to basketball now.

NFL is becoming like the NBA. NBA is flashy and shoot the 3's now. NFL looking for the flashy black QB's that can run and wow the fans. Michael Vick types.

Drop back accurate throwing QB's that can't run soon becoming obsolete.

The success of some of these types of QBs at the college level gets some of these agents and even camps thinking they can adjust the player's style for the NFL.

Sometimes these guys, combined with an edgy play caller, surprise the defenses and go on a good NFL run and get some success but it's usually about a season, maybe two, before the defenses adjust and deal with them.

I could give examples, but I think you get it.

Trey Lance looks like a bust, I guess you would consider him to be a playground QB.

In the last 30 years SB winning QB's that are white 29 and Russel Wilson.
Most drop back style but a lot of scramblers too.
                        Anybody see a pattern here?

Doug Williams and Patrick Mahomes….Mahomes is half and half and Williams was 31 years ago but still. I do agree there is a pattern

Yeah lets ignore Josh Allen and Mahomes and Rodgers and Russell Wilson and Herbert

Yeah you can still win with QBs that throw from the pocket, but it really limits your options on offense. QBs that can extend plays really test a defense.
