The "problem" i had with this situation was, that the mods seemed to enjoy the whole show. It brought some action to the forum, and no offense but you guys seem to be here way too much...
What i expected from a SBR mod (again: this is not just gambling site xxx on the net, its the number 1 resource for most bettors) was something like Tacomax did...giving scammers like AK or raiders what they deserve. Instead it seemed that you joked around with them. I dont mind some bullshit, spamming or personal insulting on other forums, but this is not the place for it imo. This is SBR.
And now that John thought its getting too much (and rightfully so, i was pissed about the way this forum took a month or 2 ago alrdy), you dont support his action. Think about it dan.
The regular poster knows that f.e. AK is paid by the small books he promotes, but lots of people just come here to look for some advice, and might be fooled.Comment -

To me, good posters are those who offer honest feedback—pro and con—on books, ask sincere questions, provide helpful answers to other posters’ questions, make constructive contributions to discussions of handicapping and other matters relevant to the site, etc. And they remain at least somewhat civil, even when a matter of some controversy is being discussed.
There are other posters that—as far as I’m concerned—clearly detract from a posting forum like this. These are people who insincerely bash books in order to blackmail them, insincerely shill for books in order to get paid by them, get into endless flame wars with other posters, scam books or other posters and stiff them, inject irrelevant matters of politics, religion, race, etc. into a sportsbetting forum, or just post moronic drivel in tongue-in-cheek fashion because they derive some sense of accomplishment in dumbing down a forum and getting a lot of attention for themselves in the process.
The more of the former and the less of the latter there is in a forum, the more I’m inclined to want to read it. It’s fine to say that one should simply read what one finds valuable and skip the rest, but the point of having a moderated forum is precisely to put certain reasonable limits on content.
It’s at least as appropriate to take countermeasures against someone who has established a track record of using these forums to scam posters and books as it is to block someone from posting hundreds of cut-and-pastes of penis enlargement links. Garbage that is exploitative, harmful, insincere, etc. is garbage. If you make no effort to lessen or eliminate it, then you’re not running a moderated forum.Comment -

It never occurred to me that there would be bannings. It's a loss to SBR, because these guys are major contributors. The bannings should be temporary. Let the situation cool down for a week, and reinstate the banned. As we've seen, AK, maybe others, will just create another account.
