Some "Losers(Guys without Rings) have had bad luck, have not been fortunate to play with great teams(or deemed anointed by David Stern). Others truly seem incapable of taking their game to the necessary level for the playoffs.
Some Winners raise their games and will their teams to victory, while others have been fortunate to play with great supporting casts and had a call or break go their way at the right time.
This discussion becomes interesting in my opinion when you are comparing Apples to Apples - i.e all-stars and "great" players. Discussing the Robert Horry's of the world gets us nowhere. Not that he was not a factor when his teams won, but I'm not concerned with role players.
Really, this requires a whole dissertation to dissect, but for now here are the bonafide losers of the night.
Joe Johnson - Has almost no qualities a "Winner" should have.
Carlos Boozer -Shocked and Amazed of just how badly he played.
Deer in headlights look is my number one criteria for someone who should be justly criticized for not winning a championship. This is why Lebron should never be criticized if he does not win one. What more do you want him to do?
A winner in my book
Joe Montana
Tim Duncan (Did so without getting all the calls)
Derek Jeter
Someone who truly became a winner after good fortune shone on him so brightly it nearly blinded him
Tom Brady- Can't knock a guy for making the most of his opportunities.
