JaMarcus Russell is going to immediately energize that fanbase, that football team -- on the practice field, in that locker room. Three years from now you could be looking at a guy that's certainly one of the elite top five quarterbacks in this league. ...You're talking about a 2-3 year period once he's under center. Look out because the skill level that he has is certainly John Elway-like.

The best part about Russell is that he got the Raiders to pay him that sum of money

Mel Kiper is no better than any other analyst when it comes to the draft and yet everyone acts like hes a genius. Good stuff.

Guys like Kiper have no clue, no one does. Of course you get lucky with a player if you say they are all going to be great.

Kiper is a moron. I knew this kid was gonna be a bust from day 1. He was a 1 year wonder in college to boot.

Kiper has to add a new variable to his rating system. That's the take the money and run syndrome that alot of not so bright, lazy, dirt poor all their life players fall into. Here's a guy with 10's of millions of dollars and he still has all his body parts intact and he's going to be taking orders and getting chewed out by woman beater Cable and nutcase Davis. It's amazing most players don't take the money and run. What incentive is there to stay in the game?

I have no respect for Kuipers opinion anymore.

His last draft was a disaster. Especially when this is all you do for a living.

Are you guys serious? Most NFL teams whiff on draft picks.

Kiper is probably one of the only guys that actually knows about all the players. He already has a big board for 2011 draft. Everyone that makes mock drafts, rankings, etc. are all basing it off his work.
