    Mike Tyson's New Documentary
Just saw him on the View (yeah, I know ) and he seems really fascinating. He's broke and busted in so many ways yet he comes across more humble and mature now.

Has anyone seen this? If so, is it worth me buying? I'm not willing to download it - dude needs the cash more than I do at this point.

Yeah, maybe. But I tend not to have a soft spot for a guy who has been convicted of rape no matter how he comes across. Just wondering if there was anything worthwhile in the documentary or if it was just the same old stuff.

I saw something on him the other day on HBO I think. It was very interesting, how he's trying to lead a better life & all that BS. Fuk Mike Tyson. He's no Ali, that's for sure. Just a washed up has been who will go down in history as a joke that wont be remembered past our generation.

They showed a clip of him on the Italian version of Dancing with the Stars and I kept thinking that there's no way in hell Ali would've ever done that. Then again, Tyson is getting inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame later this year so there's obviously a lot of people who still believe in his worth as a boxer despite his schizo tendencies.

Tyson one of most interesting characters in the sports world. He is always a good interview and the guy is not stupid. I could listen to that guy talk for hours.

Um, I agree he is interesting. He has the mentality of a criminal and the brain of a mildly retarded child. Add a vicious violent streak to that and it's a recipe for disaster. He's probably on tons of meds. You can't change the real Tyson. Soon enough, he'll make some unfortunate fuk pay.

When I would go to Geneva on the Lake Ohio for a week, I would always stop by his house on route 534. Huge huge yard surrounded by brick and metal fence with MIKE TYSON in steel around the opening. He has it set up that you can't stop near his house unless you pull into his huge ass driveway right off a road where people drive like 70 MPH. It took about about 2 minutes and maybe two pictures before his security would come rolling down the driveway in SUV'S. I know when he went belly up, that property sold first.

I guess it's not hard to believe he went broke but it still shocks me a bit. And not that it's any excuse in the slightest but it just sucks that he had such a crappy go of it growing up as well. What a mess of a life. At least amongst the people I know, he's always the one we refer to when talking about a tough guy or whatever. None of the boxers after him have come close to his level of name recognition and notoriety. Regardless of anything else, he was still a damn good boxer back in the day.

Am definitely going to buy the DVD and will try to watch his new pigeon show as well as the fact that he's involved with that just blows my mind.

Pre-Douglas fight no-one absolutely NO-ONE has ever been more explossive in the ring. Ali was and will remain the best performer to ever enter a ring and several others are arguably the best pound for pound fighters ever but there never has been and maybe never again will be someone who exploded through his punch and was as relentless as Tyson was.

I have no sympathy for the guy though. Partially retarded, slow, whatever clinical term is used for him aside the guy has shown the ability to understand right from wrong and just hasn't used good judgement or decided that the rules of society did not apply to him on several occassions.

It's easy to appear humble and sincere when you have lost everything especially when you antipate or try to manipulate others to feel your sorrow and pain and rally behind you in an attempt to regain some of what you have pissed away.

True there have been reports that former managers had cheated him out of some of his earnings, bad investments, failed businesses and the like. While I'm sure some if not all is true the guy has still had repeated opportunities to make things back.

Watching Mike Tyson on Pay Per View in the 80's was better than any sport and it only lasted like 90 seconds.

Tyson is the reason why people still have fight parties today.

Did you really order the Mayweather fight to watch that boring shit or to throw a party ?
Greatest of all time in my opinion (because he's from my generation).

                                  Not spot on actually.

In the documentary Tyson talks about not having any fight left in him. He also talks about his last fights and how he just took them for money and never expected to win. The guy just needed a pay day. No fight left, only will fight for money. No more heart.

Documentary is a must watch! Ive seen it it several times.

"Tyson" was very well directed. There's alot of classic quotes in that Doc and it's just from random shit that he says. Especially about women.

And you're right Hen - there was never a fight night party like there was when Tyson was in the ring. Never once cared about spending the money on PPV even during the times when his walking into the arena lasted longer than the actual fight itself. Good times.

Atmosphere was electric when Tyson fought and only rival was maybe Sugar Ray Lenoard back in the day, we will never see a time like that again in boxing.

By the way, we just recently had the 20-year anniversary of the Douglas fight. I will never ever forget that night. Was home on a Friday night and figured what the heck, I'll check this out just in case it's decent...........Turned out to be one of my Top Five All-Time Sports Moments. No question. Was out of my fukking chair, shadow-boxing and screaming and jumping up and down. Greatest upset ever.

(Tyson talks about that night in the documentary, by the way.)

I forgot about the Sugar Ray and Hitman fight parties. Those would always fall a month or two before the Tyson fight like an appetizer.

I still get a kick out of the Big Fights on Pay Per View. There are only 2 sporting events that attract women and children (basically people who don't watch sports). The Super Bowl and Big Fights on Pay Per View.

Alot of women and children were actually interested in watching that boring Mayweather fight. Wasting 5 dollars on picking rounds when everyone knows the 12th round wins.
