    Season Long Bets
I have a minimal bankroll, but still like placing Season Win total bets for Football and Basketball. So here's my question:

How much of your bankroll do you spend on season long wagers? And after you do, when placing single game bets, do you count those season-long-bets towards your bankroll when deciding how much to bet(ie: a bet of 10% of your "bankroll)?(I'm assuming no?). Is it even worth putting a decent amount of your bankroll into wagers that are going to take months to decide?

    This is a good question.

I guess you have to look at it as shopping ahead. While the time for the event may be months away, it will be of great value once the event arrives.

Right now I am looking at prices for the NBA finals, and NCAA
championships. The bets I placed on the World Series (Sox at +300 for the World Series) are just coming in, and have couple of SB futures in place (9/5 for NE looks pretty good right now)

I will put the steak at a half kelly or less depending on the odds and potential win value. Using a half kelly as the value makes more sense to me because the kelly stake value changes as the size of your bankroll changes and corrects itself as you are winning or losing. (I am not a flat bettor, and flat betting does have its own advantages). I always look for good future bet values (eg. I took an F1 future for Kimi Raikkonen at 20/1 when it looked like Hamilton or Alonso was a shoo-in to win because I thought he had a decent chance to catch them.) during the season as well.

To me, you should limit yourself to taking only 3-4 teams per event because you can easily get carried away. Also future events have their inherent risks because it is difficult to see injuries or other types of events happening. (eg betting on the Mets and Phillies. Also bets on the Saints looks pretty bad right now as well.)

I also like to take a long shot or two just for fun - but only if there is a good potential for the win.
