Now That the Playoffs Are Here, We Probably Won't Hear Anything About Covid from NFL

They pulled their weight in the propaganda department, peppering us with throughout the year with Covid player news and sit-outs, but now it's playoff time, and they know where their bread is buttered, so much like the NCAA and the CFP, there will suddenly be a miraculous drop in positives, or even testing for that matter, and we should be able to skate through the postseason without any star players being shelved for the all important games afoot.

Then of course, you'll return to your regularly scheduled programming of around-the-clock fearmongering.

Or, pretty much everyone in the NFL has had it in the last couple of months.

    For example, the Cowboys:

You mean testing for a virus with tests that don't and CAN'T even work because they've never isolated the virus in the first place? I.E. the virus does not exist until you can isolate it and prove it!

Injuries, COVID news to monitor ahead of Super Wild Card Weekend

    Raiders vs. Bengals

For the Bengals, no starters missed practiced Tuesday and their important pieces dealing with injuries like Joe Burrow, Quinton Spain, Hakeem Adeniji, and a few more were full participants. The Raiders have some issues on their defensive line. Starting nose tackle Jonathan Hawkins missed practice with back and knee injuries. The next man up would typically be Darius Philon, however he was placed on the IR following Sunday’s game with a knee injury.
    Patriots vs. Bills

Heading into this game, neither team had any players miss practice Tuesday. The Patriots did have numerous guys limited including Damien Harris, Christian Barmore, Dont’a Hightower, Isaiah Wynn, Kyle Duggar, and a few more. The Bills had just two players on the injury report in Emmanuel Sanders and Efe Obada and they were both full participants.
    Eagles vs. Bucs

The big injuries to watch out for in this one are both running backs. Miles Sanders and Leonard Fournette are both expected to return from the IR for this matchup. Both teams will get a much needed boost offensively if they get these guys back.
    49ers vs. Cowboys

For the 49ers, the big question is around Trent Williams and his elbow injury. Per reports, he’s not expected to practice on the first day of practice Wednesday, but he still has a chance at playing. There are a few big name guys banged up on the Cowboys like Tony Pollard, Trevon Diggs, and a few more, but all are expected to play.
    Steelers vs. Chiefs

The Steelers will be banged up in this one with guys like Najee Harris, Robert Spillane, James Washington, Kendrick Green, and a few others dealing with injuries. They're all expected to be limited at practice this week. For the Chiefs, Clyde Edwards-Helaire is the big name to watch for as he’s been out the past two games with a shoulder injury. Tyreek Hill is another name to watch as he’s dealing with a heel injury, though it sounds like he should be good to go.
    Cardinals vs. Rams

The Cardinals are dealing with some injuries in their backfield offensively. Both Chase Edmonds and James Conner will be names to watch for on the injury report. For the Rams, Taylor App is in concussion protocol and Darious Williams is dealing with a shoulder injury. This isn’t good at all for a secondary who lost starting safety Jordan Fuller for the season in their last game

Did you actually read this or did you just post it because it had the buzzword in the title?

These are all injury related, as in stuff sustained on the gridiron, not the microscopic boogie man.

I read it. It supports your argument that Covid disappeared from NFL playoff teams. That's why I posted it. It is odd that no playoff team has covid issues.

I don’t want to get in a covid debate but are we not going to acknowledge that there is a chance that players also care more right now because it’s playoffs and one person hitting the club or being around a lot of people can ruin it for most on the team? So maybe there’s tighter protocols for the players in terms of their day to day activity? Couldn’t possibly be that right? Has to be propaganda instead?

Didn't they decide to stop testing:

    https://www.nfl.com/news/new-covid-1...ted-players-st

If you stop testing asymptomatic people, you are going to get less positives.

There's always going to be that built-in plausible deniability, that's why the sham ebbs and flows at the wave of their hand. Do I think these players' lives are dramatically different now that they're in the playoffs? No, I don't. They're living as social beings just as they were before. That doesn't necessarily mean "clubbing" or anything grandiose, it could be something as simple as going to the grocery store, a Bible study, a restaurant with the family... They aren't being shuttled around in Hazmat suits and sleeping in oxygen chambers.

Plus if there's anything we know about rampant testing, is that it yields positives on a regular basis, whether they're legitimate or not. Doesn't really matter what the lifestyle of the individual is, one faulty positive and the rigmarole begins, even if they test negative 10 minutes later.

If you acknowledge that less tests equate to less positives, then you're pretty much conceding that there are positive players running around out there that simply didn't get tested, which kind of defeats the purpose of having any safeguard in place whatsoever. It's a master class in hypocrisy. Is it about safety or is it about optics?

Yes, there are positive players running around playing.

They don't care about players getting covid.

If the players prefer that and the league prefer it, it's their business.

So far, so good... It's a miracle what a little postseason action can do to halt a variant that was allegedly 100x more contagious than its predecessor. I guess ol' Omicron must be a football fan like every other red-blooded American. Instead of seeking out hosts that are on an NFL payroll, the microbial monsters just took a seat in the stands and grabbed their bucket of popcorn like everyone else!

I figure if we could somehow harness the power of the postseason, extend it to a 12 month calendar year, and include all 7.8 billion people on the planet, the pandemic will be over by sunset.

So just a question... I don't know what the official mask mandate is currently in California??? But I would imagine it would effect the Super Bowl.... we all know the Super Bowl is going on... and ain't no one stopping it...

So... who stroked who to make sure the Super Bowl is on schedule??? The NFL had to compensate something... or bribe the governor somehow. Bullsh## if he didn't. Why isn't this news??

    PROFOOTBALLTALK.

“For conference championship week, COVID disappears. For the rest of the world, COVID persists. For the NFL, it’s gone away.

With four teams left, not a single person tested positive for COVID this week. The only COVID-related transaction happened on Friday, when Bengals linebacker Joe Bachie exited the COVID reserve list. He remains on injured reserve.

That’s it. No one was placed on COVID reserve. While, in theory, it could still happen between now and Sunday afternoon, a positive test hinges on players, coaches, and/or staff self-reporting symptoms — or having symptoms sufficiently severe that others notice them.

Late in the regular season, some players were volunteering that they were experiencing symptoms. Now, who in their right mind would tap out of the game that has them on the brink of a Super Bowl?

With no regular testing of vaccinated or unvaccinated players, coaches, and staff, the chances of anyone missing either of Sunday’s games or the game to be played two Sundays later are very slim.

It’s good for football, and it’s likely an indication that, come 2022, the NFL will follow the same approach. Don’t ask, don’t tell, keep going.

Don’t mistake this for passing judgment. It’s just stating facts. There are plenty of other facts regarding the pandemic that plenty of people don’t want to hear. It doesn’t make them anything other than cold, hard facts.”

It’s a shame our POLITICIANS AND MEDIA used fear and exaggerated a pandemic to implement SOCIALISM. They broke this country to put their thumb over every single one of us. The sheeple of this country get what they deserve.
