I think it is time to tell your friend to stop betting and find a less expensive hobby

Ouch, thats a lot of tin too lose on Sports!

I know someone who lost about $50k in a 3 month period, he went for help and is sorted now. Does not touch the stuff anymore, his nemesis - MONEY MANAGEMENT! Would win a 1k bet, then lose a 2k bet, win a 5k bet, lose a 10k bet and so on ... poor SOB

most that lose that much, don't realize it because they don't keep proper track, and they lie to themselves

all depends on how much you have
if you're making 100k a year and have lost an average of 5k/year for the last 20 years and got some entertainment out of it then so what? i'm sure a lot of guys have lost a lot more in the stock market

then again if you're making $15/hr and lost more than your income in a year ouch!

I lost 30k in the stockmarket.

                                  Fuucking rats...Never again.

I remember having 300 shares of ARIA. They were doing the MSNBC interview. Stock was 47$ a share. They interviewed the CEO, they had 14 employees...I could not believe what I heard..Stock went down 5 points in an hour. 14 employees at a pharmaceutical company? Human Genome? I thought they woukld have at least 500 employees.

Do people really lose that much in raw money? Not just talking profits here in a roll. Serious fukin degen if so.

There's no fukin way you should lose net money. Get yourself up, withdraw to guarantee yourself profit or at least even, then bet with profit and there's only money to gain, money you wouldn't have had anyway.

That's an advantage I think online books give. If you're paying out liquid cash to a bookie or something, then you may tangibly depend on those profits and it's back and forth whereas online books keep your money in a hold that's too abstract and detached for you to depend on. Also easier for MM.
