The Breeders Cup Races Next Weekend - Question for Mods
I imagine a lot of people will want to post their picks. Can it be done here on the main forum, or should we confine those to the horse racing board? (I heard that this year the BC races are spread out over two days, Fri and Sat)

The BC sort of transcends its category - like on Ky Derby Day everyone is a horseplayer.

BTW, a relative who went to Monmouth Park (in New Jersey) on their normally biggest day, for the Haskell race, tells me that their tote board was down for the first three races that day.

And that their seating was chaotic, and that their own website had the wrong date listed for the Haskell.

I've been to Monmouth Park a few times, on visits East. It's a nice little track not that far from the shore (tho nowhere near as close as is Del Mar to the Pacific), but it is small, and apparently not professionally run.

Wonder how much they had to pay racing's nabobs to bring the BC there.

That place is going to be a nightmare on BC day. I go up once a year and wait in at least twenty minutes of traffic over an hour before first post. There is really only one main road going into the track. Parking and other logistics are going to be a nightmare.

They do have enough windows to handle the betting traffic but it will be interesting to see if they have enough tellers. I'm also interested in whether they do anything with the infield because the infield isn't equipped to handle people or temporary seating.

I had a shot to go but turned it down only because of where it is. I only live 40 minutes from there, but there is one road in and out, a 2-lane highway.

It'd be like holding the Super Bowl at a high school.

It really doesn't matter, ritehook. If it's posted here, just understand that after the thread dies off, it will get moved to the appropriate forum.

Went there once about 10 years ago and I also see that being a nightmare within the track and getting in/out. Plus, the Breeders Cup people don't give a rat's ass about customer service/satisfaction.

Better off going to the OTB or betting from home.
