    Delray beach florida.
Anyone know about this place? My parents went on vacation there and then bought a Condo.

How is this place? Upscale? Rich? Poor? Gangsters? I have no idea, no if someone knows, I would greatly appreciate some insight. White, Black, Pr?

Middle to upscale. A lot of older people live there. Very cool spots to hang out downtown there. Mostly white.

I actually just moved to delray just over a year ago and LOVE it so far, I live right off the main road downtown (atlantic ave) which has tons of great resturants and bars (reccomend City Oyster to your parents, amazing food) and the beach here is fantastic. One thing i really like about it here is there is a mix of all kinds of people and ages, alot more younger people than up in palm beach or down in boca raton.. Sports wise, all the pro teams you'll find here are in miami, just 45-1hr south of here.. There are quite a few dog and horse tracks though from west palm down to fort lauderdale, and also the seminole hard rock casino, which is like a city in itself. Hope your family enjoys it down here, let me know if you have any more questions!

Manaconda, thank you for the excellent write up. This kinda gives me a visual of the place. Parents are in their 60's. Sounds like they made a wise choice. Again, thank you for the informative write up.

Brock, thanks for the quaker state. I will take Mobil 1 instead. Fuuckingg oil riggers...

Grandparents have a condo in boca, which is about five mins South I believe, so I know a bit about the area.

About 20 mins north we've got the Palm Beach Kennel Club, which is a dog track. Not really something I even bet, just go to watch a few races and bet on the Horse races inside.

Maybe 30 minutes south though, is Gulfstream park. One of, if not the best Horse track in Florida. Todd Pletcher who just won the derby is based there I'm assuming, since he always has a shit-load of horses running when I'm there.

Like the guy before me said, most of the Sports teams are in Miami. About ten mins North of the city though, is the Marlins/Dolphins stadium. It's basically got it's own little exit, so it's very easy access, and not much traffic at all when you come from the North like Delray is. I'd def recommend going to a weeknight game, so you can be one of about 2,000 people there. Also, I know the Cardinals and Marlins share Roger Dean Stadium which is in Jupiter I think (30 mins away) during Spring Training. Once the games start, there's a game everyday whether it be the Marlins or Cards.

I'm not too familiar with the actual area of Delray though, as I've only driven through it and at once a Duffy's, which is a sportsbar down there that I would definitely recommend. But it certainly looked like it was a pretty nice neighborhood.

They have an early hard court tournament there in February or March I believe (tennis). If you are at all into tennis those smaller scale tournaments are a great place to see/meet decent breaking out tennis players for a good price, usually a good time too.
