This is an interesting topic. We all know SBR is doing a hell of a job with the points program, but can it really last? You gotta think that they are losing a ton of money with all the iPad's and sportsbook cash being bought right?

#20The loyalty points program is working great. As a business you hope you can pass the costs on plus a profit to sponsors sometime in the future. But first you have to prove its a well managed program that offers results along with branding. As some may recall the first few days of the program it was near chaos. There were quite a few calling for it to be totally scraped. It is here for good now.Comment -

Most do not have the money to make it work other than some fukkin wristbands and fukkin hats.

#23SBR gets affiliate revenue from the sportsbook every time they sign a new member via a free cash deposit or free play purchased via SBR points. Whether it is cost per acquisition (one time payment) or revenue sharing or a combination of both I do not know. They also make money from selling ad space on the various websites to sportsbooks. Not to mention the money just from the regular people who deposit after clicking an affiliate banner and signing up at a room.
If SBR points system ever comes to a point where it is unprofitable no doubt inflation would occur to make the system profitable again. People would get pissed off but because it is free 95% of them would stick around. In fact it's already occurred to a certain extent with the transaction fee in the SBR sportsbook and the costs of cash/freeplays going up/disappearing altogether.
You have to consider that SBR points program subsidizes marketing costs via branded merchandise as well so it is not strictly a revenue model. I think if SBR ever got to leveraging its current playerbase offering no deposit poker/casino bonuses, deposit bonuses at poker/SB/casino rooms and poker rakeback they would be really making money.
All that being said it's a great business model and kudos to SBR_john/staff for thinking it up (or borrowing it).

#26people lose their points betting just like they do in the books. probably even quicker as it is essentially play money with nothing in reality to lose.

#34The points are genius, they bring alot more traffic, which in turn SBR can get more revenue from sponsors, the majority of shit they give away is tshirts made in china. Win Win for everyone. It gives degens a reason to play with these points that they usually give back just like money they give back to the sponsors. Everyone thinks they're gonna cash out big with the books & get a flat screen from SBR. But I think we see who is winning here, it's SBRComment -
