Yes, I believe they are trying to entice you to take the ML. The other night I had a good example of this, I forget exactly what team it was, I want to say the Dodgers. The ML was around -210, and the -1 line was around -185.

Your SF Giants and my KC Royals are going to be sneaky good all season.

Both teams are going to beat better teams 2 out of 3 and the other team will be scratching their heads saying "What just happened, I thought the Giants (or Royals) were supposed to suck"

i have seen it with even closer lines. like -227 ML and -215 giving 1 run.

I just proved my own point.

Mr. No hitter (by the way fading a no-no the next start is a pretty good bet, not automatic but pretty good) Musgrove is -205 on the road in Pit.

            SD is -205 money line
            SD is -125 run line

4 years ago it would have been this.
            SD -205 money line
            SD +100 (even) run line

I know first hand, I hunt down run lines with aces on the road.
The line makers did what they are supposed to do, that's take away my edge.
Doesn't mean I have to like it, my +100 even money bet I used to get is now -125

Yeah, since Kershaw got clubbed on opening day (with the rest of the opening day aces) at -250 LA has gone on a 9 and 1 run.
The trick is to spot the correction before it happens.

No team including the '27 Yankees can maintain a 90 percent clip.
Red Sox and LA right now are automatic, but for how much longer?
