Brock, I don't pretend to know Ken or much about the forum he ran so I can't speak to that but how can you decide what is too much or anything else when it involves his mother or even his friends honoring his memory. Regardless of what our individual feelings are when it comes to suicide his family has the right to remember him for what he meant to them.

There are few of us that will leave this earth and not have those left behind who have ill feelings towards past dealings with us or have some sort of ill will towards us even in death but you would think that in the fact that we are dead and that there are those left behind who suffer with our departure that those few would be silenced for the sake of the loved ones.

I would not stand up and say this out loud but I do agree. It was his job to protect her.Women can be delicate and have children and grand children that need them. A man must protect the mother from all harm. To that end The Shrink failed and therefore failed to prevent the unthinkable sadness that will affect the family for a full generation.

I always suspected he was not as wealthy as he portrayed. I recall we were in Costa Rica to do a conference and I did him a favor and got him a room at a top hotel for free. When I came back he was gone. Turns out he went and checked into a expensive suite. I thought then wtf?? He spent and gambled like he was still in the days when the Rx was spitting out cash. But things have changed in this industry and no doubt EOG never turned a profit. So Beaner your description is probably closer to the truth than anything Ive seen printed so far.

No disrespect intended. But why the tears over this guy? He lived, he died...and took his own life which many people, myself included consider to be the cowards way out.

I guess I don't understand the big deal some of you are making over this guy. He was a pioneer. So is John and Bill. He's gone, get over it. Most of you who are shedding tears NEVER MET THE GUY. Enough already with the hero worship. The guy was selfish and a coward. I don't care what he did a billion years ago.

That is all.

All of us have lost or are losing loved ones. What makes this guy so special?

This is quite possibly the sickest act I've read about on sports forums, and for some strange reason people want to paint a halo around the guy's head. Beyond belief.

GREAT IDEA! Lets have every father or mother who belong to SBR Forum make a video about their child. Damn. They're all special. But what's the big deal about this guy? That's the point here. He ran a competing web site. By all accounts from the emotionally detached he was a prick to more people than not. Is he more "special" than the others? Let's have the SBR techs start working on a new forum video section: "My child is special".

Because, Bob, as crazy as it might seem, the man had friends. People who post here and elsewhere on the internets. They want to honor their memories of the man. Yes, I think its a little weird for a mother to make a video of her son who killed himself and post it on gambling forums but HEY1 i thought it was weird when JJ measured his tiny pecker too. people handle grief their own way.
