Brick, can ANYONE set the lines at Matchbook? I thought only the Market Makers can set the lines, and that everyone else could only offer different odds.

At Tradesports for NFL games, they will have a contract for the spread, the moneyline, the over/under, and also they will have another 4 or 5 special lines as well you can bet on.

          For instance if team A is -3 1/2, they will probably put up contracts for team A -7 1/2, -10 1/2, +3 1/2, etc.

These special spread contracts have a market maker before the game starts and usually at half time, but during game there is almost no liquidity at these spreads.

If they had contracts for every half point possible, as you are suggesting in your original post, it would be total chaos, IMO.

Still, these special spreads offer interesting middle possibilites.

emanning you can buy points at just about any sportsbook but they charge an arm and a leg to buy points. You can get the spread you want wherever you want it but it will cost you. Matchbook often has several line options for each game but you cant just make one up.

Also, books often have alternate lines you can bet on.

However I dont know of any book that you can do what you describe. There are close alternative options though as I mentioned.

you can take the odds at -2.5 at pinny. usually if the spread is at -3, you can get the spread between -1 to -5 on a big game.

If you are a high volume guy and will support the handicap Matchbook will post lines upon request. What they don't want is an extra line sitting there with no offers or no offers of size.

will matchbook let you do it? if it is one market maker, then most likely it'll be one side market at the new line.
