High court end Delaware's bid for sports betting
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday denied Delaware's appeal to install sports betting beyond NFL parlays, the Associated Press reported Monday.
The report said the justices did not comment on their decision to uphold a federal appeals court ruling that prevented Delaware - one of four states permitted to have sports betting through a grandfather clause - from adding single-game betting on the NFL, as well as the NBA, NHL, Major League Baseball and major NCAA sporting events.
Last year, those organizations successfully sued to prevent the expansion of sports betting in Delaware, which was looking to increase state revenue streams to close a huge deficit in spending.
A Philadelphia federal appeals court ruled that the expanded betting plan would violate a 1992 federal ban on sports betting. Delaware ran an NFL parlay betting game in 1976 and claimed it was exempt from the ban.

I let this whole thing go emotionally 6 months ago. Shame there will be no expansion it would be great for the state.

Was hoping this would make some headway and leapfrog legalized gambling in the US.Guess we are just a small minority and get screwed again. It's ok to pay exhorbitant taxes, but not ok to have the freedom to do what you want with your own money.

The off shore industry should be happy about this. No foothold into the U.S marketplace outside of Nevada.

Once again, your Liberal friends let all of you down. I could care less, but the the only way you are going to get this changed is through Congress. I guess the Democrats talked a good game, but as usual, folded when the heat was turned up. You guys had better learn that the law is the law and just wishing that it were not so is not going to change it.

I guess I should be happy that Del Park will have poker by the end of this month. Even though I've been playing poker at the Del Poker room for the past year, it would have been nice for the single game sports betting to be passed and run out of Del Park along with all the other Del race tracks. A full casino, live horse racing and sports betting would have been tremendous.

I actually think Atlantic City had a lot to do with it too. If sports betting passed, along with DE getting table games by the end of this month AC would be in more ruins than it is now.

I don't think this is the case. The Pocono's just opened up 2 Casino's. AC is already done.

Phila Park as a nice separate casino next to track, nice facility.
Table games in June will make it a popular spot.

If you want to bet $110 on the Browns

Bet $55 on Browns -7 parlayed with U38 and $55 on Browns -7 parlayed with O38.

Hmmm..think you missed the point. Are you perfectly happy the NFL pays thousands to lawyers controlling judges who make decisions against what people in the USA clearly want? And are you feeling safer with your Neteller account vs. a Delaware Park or say a Harrah's Inc.?
