What a great show. I haven't looked forward to Sunday nights like this since the Sopranos. Bryan Cranston is an unbelievably good actor -- and it is hard to believe he was Malcom's dad after watching this.
I didn't realize this was the father from "Malcolm in the Middle" until last week when my dad told me about it.
What a drastic change in character!

Sounds good, when does it debut?

I cant remember short. I've seen it advertise after Pacific. It's by Tom Hanks & Spielberg. Supposed to be the Pacific theater version of Band of Brothers.

If it involves Spielberg and Hanks, I'm sure it's worth a look!
I've been wanting to catch up with Pacific, I've heard it's pretty damn good...

It started kinda slow, I think Sunday was 5th episode, getting very interesting now. I liked Band of Brothers, which was riding the recent success of saving private ryan, so the buzz was much bigger

My granddad had 13 brothers & sisters, so I had alot of great uncles & great uncles by marriage fight in WWII. All of them served in the pacific theater, so it's good that they did one that focuses on that. One of my great uncles was a POW for 6 years & was on the Bataan death march. Another great uncle that I was very close too, used to get xmas cards from Gen. MacArthur. Another one was on a ship that got split into by a kamikaze zero.

Boardwalk Empire is the name of it & it'll be out this fall. Here is a link. Steve Buscemi is in it & it's done by some of the people behind the sopranos
Haha, yes, the show was on in the 90s. I remember going to Ally parties (well, lame dorm meetings amongst nerdy lit grad students) on a weekly basis and giggling away. I got the show on DVD now and it is still priceless in my eyes...remember the blow-up man? Or the dancing baby? Calista Flockard (spelling?) is with Ford, yes. And I agree, the show changed after Billy (ah! the love of her life?) started acting like a chauvinistic pig BUT Robert Downey Jr made up for that soon afterward...no?

I think it'll be a great show, especially with Scorsese & some Sopranos writers. It'll be Sopranos meets Goodfellas but in the original gangster era. I love stuff about Capone especially

Capone used to stay here in the town where I live. He had an apartment & his men stayed alot at a local hotel back in the day. This was the main rail hub & he would set up deals to ship shine back to chicago. Plus this place is halfway between chicago & miami & he would hite out here when the feds were onto him. Its a neat story

I think one of Buscemi's best performances ever was as Mr. Pink in "Reservoir Dogs"

By far the best show that is playing now. It takes a certain type of person to really understand this show and really get into the characters. I am very much into this show, the same way I was with OZ. Breaking Bad is second to none.

yeah, I loved Oz. Was the first sitcom I had gotten into since I was a kid. When I say sitcom I mean something that comes on every week that you have to watch every episode to know what's goin' on

Anyone else think tonights episode was extremely boring and had no significance ... Was that supposed to mean that his cancer spread to his brain or something? Just thought it was a lame and meaningless episode.

No way Chugs, I loved tonight's. Only BB could talk about a fly for that long and keep me entertained. I'll admit it didn't advance the plot much, but boring? Never.
