    Cin/Stl Rain Delay
    Game has been in delay for several hours, anybody know whats up?

    Will the final be 2-1 Stl or 3-2 Cincy?

    I dont see how they can call it a game in the middle of an inning, considering reds went ahead in the top. They have to give cards their turn. So Id say it will be finished Sat

      From MLB.com rules:
      4.12
      SUSPENDED GAMES.
      (a) A game shall become a suspended game that must be completed at a future date if the game is terminated for any of the following reasons:
      (1) A curfew imposed by law;
      (2) A time limit permissible under league rules;
      (3) Light failure or malfunction of a mechanical field device under control of the home club. (Mechanical field device shall include automatic tarpaulin or water removal equipment);
      (4) Darkness, when a law prevents the lights from being turned on;
      (5) Weather, if a regulation game is called while an inning is in progress and before the inning is completed, and the visiting team has scored one or more runs to take the lead, and the home team has not retaken the lead;
      I think it will resume the following day with the Reds leading 3-2. It will have to be finished, if they can't at least finish the 5th tonight. The home team has to be able to try and tie or retake lead in the inning.

            How do you figure?

            Even though it restarted, I want to hear how it can be graded as a win for the Cards if it got suspended?

                They go by the score at the last completed inning of play...unless the home team takes the lead or ties the game in the bottom half of the inning the game is called

                    If it is suspend, to be completed the next day, how can they grade it?

                    So your saying that MLB will call it complete 2-1 5 innings? I must be reading the rule wrong then.

                      I said for gambling purposes

                      If they never resumed the public who bet on the Cardinals would recieve the win

                      Since I am posting on a gambling forum I thought that is what he was talking about

                        To tell you the truth, I haven't had a bet end like that ever, or be standing in waiting. It usually is after a completed inning for me.

                        I am just trying to understand the MLB rule.

                          I am talking if it was resumed. I figured it would get suspended and resumed the next day or on a day it is not raining.

                              I never had a game get suspended and have to revert to that rule, so I really didn't know. Feel kinda retarded for the amount of time I have been betting. But you opened my eyes to it MJF.

                              5dimes:
                              If a game is called or suspended after 5 innings, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning of play - unless the home team scores to tie or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning. The winner is then determined by the score at the time the game is called. When betting on baseball totals or run-lines, the game must go 9 innings (8½ if the home team is winning).

                                Now I wish it was called.

                                The Cards are just going to have to settle this thing the normal way.

                                  I use to have a local I had a situation happen like this..the road team went up just like the reds

                                  That is the team I bet on I figured it was a loss...they resumed play the next day and won

                                  He actually gave me a win for it..so maybe alot of locals do it that way..I seem to bet a game every week that goes into a delay
